As desired by cashew growers, a preliminary meeting was held on 01-06-2019 at the ICAR- Directorate of Cashew Research, Puttur, Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka under the chairmanship of Mr. Satishchandra, the president of CAMPCO and few cashew growers in and around Puttur. It was unanimously agreed to form a national level association in the form of a trust during the meeting. The objectives of the trust, office bearers, membership, and use of media for communication regarding the trust were discussed.
In continuation, a meeting was held on 18-06-2019 during the Foundation Day in the premises of ICAR- Directorate of Cashew Research, Puttur. Cashew growers from Karnataka, Maharastra, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala were present during the occasion. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Sathischandra, the president of CAMPCO, Mangalore. The formation of a national level association was endorsed by the growers gathered during the occasion. The mode of operation, office bearers, and objectives of the association were discussed at length and finalized.
The All India Cashew Growers Association was officially registered on 22-01-2020 in the sub registrar office, Puttur, Dakshina Kannada. The office bearers were present during the registration.
