The Need
The cashew sector in India faces a serious challenge — price instability of raw cashew nuts.
Despite rising domestic and export demand, farmers continue to receive low and inconsistent prices. A significant share of profits is absorbed by intermediaries and processing sectors, leaving growers with limited returns. This has discouraged expansion and reduced farmer interest in cashew cultivation.
There is currently no strong unified body to address these issues at the national level.
AICGA was formed to:
-
Advocate fair pricing
-
Reduce exploitation by middlemen
-
Represent farmers in policy decisions
-
Create awareness and improve communication among growers
